BSP bares outstanding Boy Scouts finalists

The Boy Scouts of the Philippines released yesterday the names of the 26 national finalists of the 2007 Search for the Ten Outstanding Boy Scouts of the Philippines . The search is sponsored by Coca-Cola Export Corp.
The search committee said the 26 finalists were chosen from hundreds of aspirants from the BSP's 109 Local Councils nationwide. They will compete in the last leg of the search, the interview, which will be on Oct. 24 at the Philippine Scouting Center for Asia Pacific Region, Mount Makiling , Los Baños, Laguna, also the site of the 14th National Jamboree. Participants coming from the 10 Scouting regions will arrive at the Camp Site on Oct. 22.

TOBS project officer Manuel G. Isidoro III said top officials of BSP and Coca-Cola would present the awards to this year's winners to over a thousand jamboree participants on Oct. 26, as one of the highlights of the 14th National Jamboree. The week-long jamboree will start on Oct. 21.
Isidoro said each of the 10 outstanding Boy Scouts will receive prizes that include two-year college scholarship, cash, medals, trophies and plaques for their schools and Local Councils.
Isidoro said this year's awarding will be more memorable as it will coincide with the celebration of the centenary of Scouting and the 14th National Jamboree.
He said past winners of the search, most of them are now professionals and are working in different private and government offices are invited to witness the affair.
